My first anime was Code Geass, but if you include any cartoons, the first I saw would be an animated version of the 3 pigs

The first I ever watched that I knew of as anime (Im sure there was some before that I just didnt notice at the time as anime, just "cartoons") was a VHS copy of Ghost in the Shell in 1996... It was my fathers copy, thankfully he was a bigger geek than me back when. lol

The first anime I ever saw would have to be Pokemon or Flint, but of course I didn't know they were anime at the time as they were just cartoons to me.

The first anime I ever saw knowing it was anime was Hellsing, followed by then with Trigun and it just kinda of went from there lol

I think the first anime I ever saw was Sailor Moon (missing a lot of eps... was sorta watching it on the tv...).

First anime I looked for online/finished was Beck.

I think mine was the moomins... i was around 5ish at the time (1996 i think, i was to little to remember exactly when), and it was always on in the afternoon just after sesami street on channel 4 (im from the UK)

Ahhh the good 'ol days. The first one I ever saw was the original Digimon series actually. I would love to see that one re-done in blu-ray quality too!

I saw (And now have.

) Samurai Pizza Cats too when it aired, but I didnt know at the time it was anime and it didnt exactly catch my attention at that age so.. would that count? At that point, I cant remember if I saw something before that either.

Well, that's how I counted it. The first anime I watched after I'd actually heard of anime would have been either Akira or the animated Street Fighter II movie.

Sailor Moon. I remember watching it at a friend's house when I was five. She was crazy about it all when she was little. I still tease her to this day about it. :3

Probably Alps No Shoujo Heidi, Chiisana Viking Vickie or Mitsubachi Maya no Bouken. I was a little child back then and loved these series.
The first anime I saw and consiously recognized as being of eastern origin was probably Pokemon or Sailor Moon.

The first anime I ever watched was the Guyver OVA.

I was passing through the animation section at Blockbuster when I saw it on the shelf. I was 11 so when I saw the cover and how cool the Guyver looked, I just had to watch it. I never went back to American cartoons after that and have been watching anime ever since.

Pokemon & (Real Anime)Gundam Wing. I always remembered the Toonami lineup and always got home around 5 P.M to sit down and watch Toonami.

i saw the first GITS movie on VHS too in mid-90´s. got it via my dad too from the video rental store. there i got Akira too.

I watched Pokemon as a kid, but the first "real" anime I've seen is Bleach. Well, I actually quit at ep. 95.
