Initial D and/or the dub of Tokyo Mew Mew (which was on morning television before school).
First one I watched intentionally was Girls Bravo... Which is obviously a great intro to the world of anime.

First anime I consciously saw was Higashi no Eden. First anime I ever saw might have been Evangelion 2.0, but I'm not sure if that counts since I was drunk and half asleep at a movie's night at uni. I never watched Pokemon, DBZ, or Sailor Moon, and I'm too young to have seen the older classics.

How old are you?
I was probably 8 when I watched DBZ and 10 when I watched Pokemon. I used to watch American cartoons before that.

DBZ was good, except for my channel's massive reruns every time it got somewhere. I used to like Pokemon as well.

I didn't have WB(the channel that played Pokemon over here) so the only time I ever got to watch Pokemon was when I rented the movies from Blockbuster.

Unfortunate. I plan on watching all of it eventually, but eh.

Pokemon. I remember someone bringing a video to class in Kindergarten and we all watched it. 13 years later I still remember what episode it was. I found it THAT awesome.

The first English-dubbed anime (I make this distinction because it aired on a TV channel, not online) I saw was Digimon. My sister's around 10 years older than me and she recorded VHS tapes of the first Digimon season when it aired back when she was in elementary/middle school. The first anime I saw that was English subbed (from online) was Ouran High School Host Club. Again, my sister introduced me to it.

Dragonball Z or YuGiOh. I grew up during the original Toonami. If we mean real anime (not dubbed), my first would be Clannad.

I think the first ever anime I saw was "Saban's Fairy Tales," but that was before I knew it was anime:

It's actually an obscure anime called "Grimm Masterpiece Theatre" (グリム名作劇場), that was localized in the USA by Saban.

Neon Genesis Evangelion.

In retrospect it wasn't such a smart idea but at that time i knew nothing of anime and my friend was reading the manga which he liked.
