I think the first I ever saw was the movie My Neighbour Totoro, I remember this bizarre animal from way back =) That movie really set some traces in my soul, heh.. I must have been 4 or 5 years old at that time. thats fairly 12 years ago.

But the first I ever downloaded must have been... Onegai Twins? Onegai sounded neat at the age of 13, and 'Twins' hell yeah ;D

lithanas:

I'm not sure I'd call Transformers anime - the story and characters were all done by Marvel. The animation was done in Japan though.

My first quasi-anime was Voltron and transformers. I dunno which came first. But like I mentioned, since Transformers was designed by Americans and Voltron was "edited" to the point of being a seperate series, neither of them really count.

The first real anime I ever watched was some weird ass movie on the sci fi channel that I saw when I was like 12. I remember next to nothing about it except they played it during a "Japanimation Special" or something equally retarded. Now that I think about it, it reminds me of the Matrix, but this was long before the matrix. All the characters were running around in the guts of some great big mechanical contraption with a bunch of sentient drones running around that they had no chance of actually defeating. There was no matrix through, there was no ship that they were flying in. (well, there might have been, but it didn't seem to take any part in the series)

The first anime I saw and actually still remember was the Ninja Scroll movie. Had to be in like 97-98 or so.

allthetime:
