First anime you ever saw?? Be honest now!!

Sabreman:
I can't remember exactly but it was probably Gatchaman masquerading as Battle of the Planets, butchered up and served to kids in the late 70s / early 80s. I probably saw other things at the time that were also Anime in disguise.

I saw Castle in the Sky on TV in 1989 but assumed it was a French film because the character style was so reminiscent of Mysterious Cities of Gold (and I was under the impression that was French, from the credits).

The first thing I actively sought out knowing full well it was a Japanese animated film was Akira, which I bunked off school to travel 50 miles to see at the theatre in... probably 1989, maybe 1990.

Bombastuss:
Genshi Shounen Ryuu

Saw it along time ago... On swedish...

lightshow:
Mine was Galaxy Express 999.

I got to see three episodes when I took a trip to Florida in the USA.  I was pretty young then maybe 10.  It was on the SciFi channel.  I remember I loved it and I hated when I couldn't see it anymore (since I had to leave)

Ouch, but did you find it in the internet, so you can probably download it.

Chaza:
Voltron, I was a kid then. Now I'm 28 years-old and still love it.
