Right, question for you guys. I've been learning Japanese in my spare time (read avg 2 hours a week on and off) for a couple of years and although I could just about read Katakana, hiragana sent it all haywire. In spoken I can introduce myself, comment on the weather and ask for/give directions. I'm not making progress nearly as fast as I hoped so I was wondering if I could structure my learning to fully learn it once and for all.
Long story short, anyone out there who self-studied Japanese? If so in what order did you learn, how did you motivate yourself and how much time should I put into it to make progress? Any tips, websites, free resources will be appreciated.
