Surely sub isn't the right word as you're not subtitling anything, merely translating. But I'd have said because you have less visual cues to go from. I\m just guessing though.

@Joonas- Apparently what was said was "Why are you doing the washing Mat, isn't that Claire's job?" Mat said we usually do it together, but as I was at work he was doing it. To which he was told in an unjoking way by both of them that 'I need training better.' If I wanted a relationship where I cooked, cleaned and acted like a slave I'd have never split with my ex. He did a fucking good job of it. :/
