I went to try to donate blood but they needed the names of every city in every country I've been to outside the United States and what month and year and for how long.

I've been through half the countries in Asia half a dozen times each, the fuck am I supposed to remember that shit?

For us it's if you've gotten a tattoo within the last year you're ineligible.

so far my max DL is 1619kB/s and max UL was around 200
its not insane fast, but I am happy with it.

I'd get that speed when I first moved into this palce, and since I've had 3 other roomates move in, the speed I get is significantly lower.. but still a hell of alot faster than what I was always able to download when I was back at home so I'm not complaining.

Here you don't qualify if:
- You've been sick in the last month
- Had new sex partners in the last month
- Have a disease obviously
- Medical condition so that donating could harm you
- You're homosexual
- You're underage, D'uh
- New injuries, piercing, tattoos etc.

I think that's about it.

It's about ethical issues not about comparing it to a disease.
There are some people who would not accept homosexuals blood. Forcing them to do so would be even worse.

You should not give blood for 12 months after sex with:

A man who has had sex with another man (if you're a female).

A prostitute.

Anyone who has ever injected themselves with drugs.

Anyone with haemophilia or a related blood clotting disorder who has received clotting factor concentrates.

Anyone of any race who has been sexually active in parts of the world where AIDS/HIV is very common. This includes countries in Africa.

Was four months without a new sex partner, not one.
And they base the homosexual thing on the amount of HIV infections that are spread a lot more through gay sex than normal sex.

And then there's a huge bunch of other conditions and specific diseases.
