I had full intent on doing cleaning today, but since my mum is home I can't do mopping and since she is sick I can't do the bathroom either... So she said Vacuum and I am so not up to that I have traded that for mopping... Though most the time people give me the Vacuum it is filled and needs to be emptied maybe that is why I don't want to do that...

So now to flip the music off and work on watching more anime XD so much fun

Yeah..."mum" really does suit the English, although they probably could pull of a "mom" every now and then. Sadly, it doesn't work that way for us Americans.

I totally understand what you mean, though. I absolutely hated it when my friends in India (when I was living there) would start using "western" words to sound cool and totally butchering them, thus making me one angry-as-fuck panda. I was pissed off at them because:

1) They're neglecting their own culture.
- Yes, I'm brown, but I'm only racially Indian. Culturally- not one bit.
2) They're making MY culture and words sound like shit.

For example, they try to use the word "dude" and it sounds like "dooodh" (the ds are pronounced like the "th" in the). Sounds ugly as shit. I think you can guess how badly they fucked up the others.

It's hilarious how so many people absolutely hate Americans, yet they end up imitating us anyway :s Makes me sorta proud yet disgusted.

Wow that got me pumped, time to go yell at my Indian friends on Facebook

I idle the site as I watch anime and look for jobs... so yeah I tend to always idle about. Though I only have 12 days... meh I could care less though XD.

Also I started using mum at about ten so I was sort of an odd ball then, when I started playing games with international population was when I first found out that other people used it. I use to type mom but yeah that slowly died out unless I am talking to one of my friends and ask how their mum is doing and they go "mum???". So yeah I am very less of a person to say dude and tend to say mate more, though that was after I got in to international gaming... So yeah I am just a basket case of different cultures some could say.

Also I could care less about how others butcher our culture since we also do it to theirs, so as I see it fair is fair. Now if we didn't tend to take and butcher every culture somehow I would probably feel different about that, but who knows I really don't have much pride in this country any way...

I was never good with words but I think that takes the cake on one of my worst flips. XD Genocide of cultures, the next cause of world war!

But yeah I have never really had much of what people call American Spirit but I have always viewed this as the United States, you since last I checked we don't control even a fourth of the Americas. Hell we own less then half of North America as is... Not to mention half the time the National Anthem makes me cringe, but ours isn't the only one the French's one does also. So I guess part of my lack of care of preservation of our culture probably comes from all of that. Though we do tend to take other cultures stuff and make it our own, look at comics and cartoons, that mostly came from manga and anime. I think about the only thing I can think of that is 100% our culture is Hollywood... the over glorious piece of shit. Yeah I have so much good things to say about this country I think I will stop now...

I'm not very proud of it (okay maybe just a little

) but when someone says "Americans", people think of the United States. Not Mexico, not Peru. We pretty much hogged the name of a continent lol.
As for "preserving" our culture, I agree with you when you say Hollywood is probably the only thing that's truly American (that and morbid obesity), and that we really do take in all the cultures and make one huge syncretic one of our own. We really are a melting pot.
