Naah, I totally hated how they "blank wiped" the first season. It turned into a regular shounen show with nothing ever getting anywhere. Just bleh.
The magic of the first one was all gone. :'(
Errrr, all the plot points still get developed. Actually, there's a fair bit of story development, and the season ends with
Yuji choosing between Shana and Kazumi and much of the series deals with Shana and Kazumi coming to terms with their feelings for Yuji and becoming friends (and incidentally, Shana becoming more "human")
so there's relationship development, too.
Not to mention more backstory, expansion on previously brought up backstory, and
