Its just the way its done there.

Its just a difference in the order of numbers, any normal person can tell what is meant based on the nationality of the speaker (or typer.)
Its not like the difference between imperial and metric.

lol, actually I always have a habit of M.D.YY as in if it were march 4th, 2011: 3.4.11
anyway, it is cuz americans are the BEST!!! lol

Finland uses DD.MM.YYYY
+ the US sucks. It is the source of most problems today.
(well the base problems in there were caused by French, Spain & England)

And TiER, are you one of those persons who thinks The US is America? 'cause Canadians, Mexicans, etc. are also americans.

Funny, cause I hear people from other countries refer to us as "Americans" all the time, so why can't we?

Mexico/Canada = North American
U.S. = Commonly referred to as simply America (notice there is no "North?")

You are not gonna hear a Mexican or Canadian call themselves Americans so stop nit-picking.

Its like a nick-name, It just sticks.
Its not your real name obviously, but it becomes what you are known as.

First, the only important thing in the Americas is the U.S. Yes, we are so badass that, due to popular usage, we have usurped a name that should apply to everyone on 2 continents. Now it applies only to us. Also, Canada is actually a myth -- there is nothing but a vast, uninhabited wasteland north of the United States. People who claim to be from Canada are actually from Minnesota. Or one of those other Yankee states, I forget which one. And who would want Mexico anyway, it's full of Mexicans!

Second, the only proper way to present a date is in ordinal format -- YYYYDDD. So today is 2011086. MM/DD/YYYY format is also acceptable. Anything else is merely backwards-thinking Communist propaganda.
