So I happened to watch Requiem for a Dream today... Bad idea because now I just wish to tear my eyeballs out and pretend I never saw it. Can anyone recommend some lighter and happier stuff?

Todd Solondz's Happiness

"Happiness strips reality bare. It shows us how the world really is, shocking us out of any cosy, bigoted notions about life and people which we might have."

Uh huh...  ::)

Well, do you have any genre or era in mind? A 1962 comedy isn't much like a 2004 adventure movie.

Because I feel like it.

As long as it hasn't been made before the 60's. As for genres romance is a bonus, but not really necessary either.

Yum, I went to the Sharks Tooth Festival and had Gator-on-a-Stick. After 5 hours of walking around, I left with a Sphere of Petrified Wood. Jeez, it was almost the usual hot today, would have been unbearable if I would not listened to my mom and continued with my original outfit choice (black T-Shirt, Jeans). The only problem is that I was saggin like a Mutha-Fucka with my pants nearly around my ankles. I put on my younger brother's studded belt, but his waist size is somehow larger then mine even though I am a few inches taller. /sigh/ now I can rest.

Shit I'm Watching | Quite frankly, I don't give a fuck.

James Dean Rebell without a cause, I hope you watched it my finnish brothers(and sister).
Might not qualify as it's 55 and it's got a sad ending but it's rather good still. And, ah, the humour of watching these guys rebel in their twenties while we did it in our thirteens.  :P

@Reape, seriously, go watch Chungking Express. It's got romance and watching it always makes me feel warm and fluttery inside.  :)

Because we can!

@TiYlER Surely a black tshirt was a bad idea if you wanted to stay cool?

Watching Mahoromatic and trying to finish this zine off tonight, then need to digitise some logo designs and get them emailed off along with how much money I'm pitching for the job tomorrow. Mat's parents keep bugging us to come up and neither of us has the time this week, much as I'd have loved to have spent a few hours at the market tomorrow.

My point exactly, I wanted to wear a black Tshirt with jeans, but my mom insisted I wear shorts and a white tshirt. So I listened to her. But then the pants thing and all that.... btw- the reason I wore THOSE shorts was because they were my ONLy clean pair. Not that it would have mattered much, most Florida festivals are held outside (through ungodly heat or not). The Gun Show, County Fair, State Fair, Circus, Shark Tooth Festival, a whole shitload of things to do, fairs already passed though (they have them each season i think). Flea markets are everywhere, but they are more or less crappy depending on the reason you are at one.  I get dragged everywhere...

Why do you listen to your mother?  :P
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

As long as it hasn't been made before the 60's. As for genres romance is a bonus, but not really necessary either.
10 Things I Hate About You (Basically a modern version of "The Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare) 8.3
The Princess Bride (A very good fairytale-esque movie from 2000) 8.1
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (Main's girlfriend forgets about their relationship.) 8.8

All 3 are romance stories, and all are pretty modern(I don't know any old romances). Score is user score from metacritic.

Because I feel like it.

When I went to Florida I loved the flea markets! And the crazy golf that we played for hours.

Florida was fuuun. Shame it cost us so much

I love that film, but find it makes me quite sad.

I listen to her because if I do, then I get anything I want, and I don't end up like you guys. And FYI, I wouldn't get kicked off of anything, my parents would just say "I told so!", and I don't want them constantly saying "If you would have listened to us....."

Sure, it is fun up until you realize that you have to live here till you are old enough to leave the safety of your guardian's house without having a search team sent after you. Speaking of golf, my mom used to manage a golf course. It was the best job she ever had because we could sit in the main room and eat and drink all we want.

Sorry about the errors in the previous post, I fixed them.

Anyway, You live in London, right? I would hardly call that "bloody boring".

I live in Lincoln and I come from Stoke-on-Trent. Lincolns okay, Stoke's boring as fuck.

I've only been to London twice so far. Was gonna head down next month for a convention but I can't afford to now.

Oh right, my bad, I knew it began with an "L" and ended with an "N". It seems like you have been everywhere! I have only been to 3 states inside the U.S. (Pennsylvania [where I was born], Indiana [where I was raised], and Florida [where i moved seven 1/2 years ago]) -Well technically I was raised here because I was still finishing up second grade when I got here.

MCM right? I wish I was going too but I have exams on those days :(
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

I've finished uni by then so I was gonna head down for a few days, but I need to get a job before then.

I've not travelled all that far in all honesty. My other half's father is in the RAF so he's lived all over the place, I had only lived in one house until I came to uni. Now I've lived in... 5 different houses and flats in the last 3 years. And I'll be moving again in a month or two.

BAGELS! Nikki Shore's fave. (One of my comic book characters)

Anyways, 4x20 posts. I'm not even impressed, In fact it seems like boring to me nowadays. Expected from a bunch of bored people.
Anyways, for good news today, I'm stuffed. Bored. Dunno what to do.
Bad news, Got me some mini pizzas. ate four of them and still I'm stuffed.
Worse news, I'm in this forums bored still...

Neutral news, found out that one of my batchmates just had served by a car. Had MVA. Everybody was shocked. And the crowd goes wild... Became a one-hit wonder (in the local news)

People. What on earth are they thinking they're doing...
