Anyway, with Havoc it's probably safe to assume he could hit at any time.

Agreed! One of the better visual novels I've played (though admittedly, I haven't played many), and definitely the best non-Japanese VN. I'm not sure I liked the overall point it tried to make at the end, but the way it explored some of the various issues along the way was excellent.

If you like it, you should definitely give her other game a try too: Digital. It's not really a VN as such, but it's excellent.

I am rewatching EVERY episode of Pokemon (including the movies)

with the massive amount of puns and various wordplay in pokemon, it makes me wonder how far off from the original script the dubs are...

I would really like to watch original version of Pokemon, the original manga is so damn good, the US version is so flat, I wonder if the US version of Pokemon is as flat as the manga is, and the original Pokemon is as ... as the original manga

Pffft. I never liked the manga adaption of Pokemon. The TV series was awesome until Diamond and Pearl came along.
The games have always been good, though.

I'd say, not to let the silly american kids to learn some weird sounding names.

Personally i want to punch every person that laughs hearing a new name they never heard of and think it's funny... unless the name is Dick... is that a short or long name ?

pronunciation and marketing?

doing so is also a kind of translation. when you cross cultures/languages, names and such require you to think of whether it is better to keep the pronunciation or the meaning. sometimes you can do something close to both. most the time you can't.

it is funny seeing that in other languages (my second is Chinese) and how something like place names are mixed. Oxford is rendered as a translation of the meaning. New Haven (where i lived for a while) is done phonetically. A funny one would be all the "New"s. New Zealand is rendered with the word for new in Taiwan but a phoneme in mainland China.

I actually played the first pokemon game and it was a lot of fun, but after that they got boring really fast.
