^2 Heh. Well, Blastoise wasn't the prettiest of Pokemon... nor were Charizard and Venusaur, for that matter. At one point I didn't let them evolve at all, just so they would stay cute.
Yellow was pretty cool, too, IMO. You had to trade with both to catch them all, but you didn't have Pikachu following you around in Red or Blue. XD
But other than R/B/Y and playing about halfway through one of G/S, I mostly left it alone. I liked the concept, but I didn't really feel any draw toward the later generations. Trying to "catch them all" felt far more daunting once there were several hundred of them to catch, and Eeveelutions felt like they were becoming a lot more complicated.

Behold: The adventures of a random user named "ph4zr" and his laptop PC in search of the elusive land of tinypic || AKA "To hell (and back?)"
... I spent the last 90 minutes trying to figure out why tinypic refuses to work. Very occasionally tinypic URLs would resolve, if I was willing to try the URL 10+ times. Then they'd fail again if I tried to do a non-cached reload. The server obviously wasn't down, and proxies had no trouble retrieving images. Clearly it was on my end—the question (oh the question), of course, was "where?"
So I cleaned my cache, checked ad and site blockers, tried Chrome and ... IE, scoured the web, disabled my AV/FW for the entire 30s it took to check, changed DNS servers three times, tried it all again. Found something mentioning "jumbo frames", but it was already disabled for my adapter—for giggles I tried enabling it instead.
No luck.
Despite not having access to an alternate PC, I (finally) realize my phone should serve a similar role.
...
Apparently it works fine on my phone. Right peachy performance—doesn't take longer than about a second to load a <1MB pic.
... 30 seconds later ...
Apparently it even works fine with my wireless card. My wireless sucks—about 1MB/s LAN transfers and high browsing latency—but ... I can view tinypic with it.
The only plus side to the last 2 hours is that I now have both AMA (360) and AMR (PC).

I could use a stiff drink. Except I don't drink. So I suppose the next best thing is to go watch Maria go crazy with her psychopathic giggling, while Beatrice and Bernkastel have their fun.
