I didn't really play very many games from that era, but I remember enjoying Secret of Mana (SNES), Seiken Densetsu 3 (SNES), Chrono Trigger (SNES)*, and Wild Arms (PS). SoM/Seiken Densetsu are both action RPGs rather than traditional turn based ones. I also liked Beyond the Beyond (PS), but your mileage may vary.

*Been mentioned, but I second third it.

Seiken Densetsu 2 & 3 on SNES if you like action style. Absolute musts.
Lufia I & II for regular on SNES.
Chrono Trigger on SNES and Chrono Cross on PS.
Paradise Eve 1&2 on PS if you like mystery style.
Super Mario RPG on SNES.
Tales of Phantasia on SNES.
E.V.O. Search for Eden on SNES, evolutionary RPG, some love it, some see no point in it. I personally find it a masterpiece.
Lunar series.
Breath of fire series.
Fire emblem series.
Star ocean series.
Xenogears on PS.


Who knows how many else.  :D

Aw shit I totally forgot about chrono trigger. All my friends kept trying to get me to play that back in high school but I never got around to it.
I guess now is as good a time as any.

Xenogears is another one I meant to play back in the day but never did.

install it and everything was okey

downloaded the english patch but can't install it
here's what it says "an error occurred while trying to copy a file: the source file is corrupted"
downloaded it again from another site but it's the same
changed to english locale and japanese locale but didn't work

if any1 knows how to make it work plz tell me :)

that's not what i really need
if any1 got free time can he download the patch from here
install it then pack it and upload ???
