Yeah, Last time I was in Pakistan, my Grandfather introduced me to his friend who was a pro at this stuff. I like working with my hands and even just talking about working with them. I spent a whole 2 days chilling with this guy as he showed me how to do all these cuts and stuff. Never got to do any myself, but I learnt a lot from observation. I really liked this one called an Emerald cut which counter-intuitively is not specifically for Emeralds.

*sigh* I've got a lot of time before I'd need to know this anyway

I might pick it up some time. I've got this move to Saudi Arabia this summer (long story) I hear getting through customs there is a nightmare, so I'll probably hold it off till I'm back in the UK (read, two years or so)

That reminds me, Arab customs trawl through ones hard drives for "Inappropriate material" if you move there. Now I'm obviously not packing any porn in, but does anyone know their stance on things like Ouran (Implicit homo-eroticism) or Hellsing (Religious themes, lots of violence)

I'm pretty sure we have a couple of users from Saudi. Any advice guys?

maybe in other Arab countires but not ( here in Saudi )
I mean customs here are too lazy to open your laptop and check if you have anything
hacked/illegal ( actually I've never seen that happens ! )

Just make sure you don't bring anything illegal *cough*drugs*cough*

and you'll be fine !

I have to warn you though getting through customs can be a pain
for non-Saudi so, I suggest bringing something to read

BTW, Where exactly are you headed ? I mean which city in SA ?

I'm headed for Ad-Damam on the east coast. The movers gave a leaflet of banned materials which says they do HDD checks. I'm guessing it'd be really rare anyway though. It also says they don't give a damn about pirated stuff, only things that offend the culture or whatever

So, just got back from the airport... I swear, some of those people out there have too much money for their own good. The guy across the way just spent about $1mil on a jet for personal use that costs about another $1000 per hour in fuel just to fly. Lucky bastards.

Anyway, Usagi drop airs tomorrow, the subs cant come soon enuf =/
