I'm so bored that I'm watching Kanokon... it actually had the potential to be a good Harem series, but the choice of age appearance for Kouta is far too young. Planning on finishing Mayoi Neko Overrun! after this. It has a much better character layout.

Agreed. I'm of the opinion that people should be allowed to hold whatever world-view they like, no matter how stupid it may be, and no matter how deeply I may disagree with it.

And the King James Bible is pretty cool. Try reading it some time.

I tried reading the International Version once, but it got boring so I went to watch a harem series.

I know, the International Version sucks Lucifer's balls. The KJV is pretty good, though. Sure, the general plot ain't any different, but the way they tell it makes a whole world of a difference.

Don't manga offers usually get approved doubleplusquick? Its just that I'm seeing a lot of manga stuck on the Offers page since a couple of days. Wonder what's up.

For SeventyX7 (found it while reading Scott Pilgrim):

Correct. On the other hand, people here (and the Pope "Papa Ratzi") are telling others to "respect religous feelings", which is simply idiotic - neither the human rights nor the German constitution have such a passage. Thus, certain people get pissed when a muslim is sent to prison because of a "honour murder". Sorry dudes - this is germany, stick to the german law or GTFO.

Well, thats the thing, you can "believe" whatever you want but you cant always carry out your beliefs. I dont know of any honor killings over here, tho I have heard of them in other countries. However, every now and then you get a parent who refuses to get a child medical treatment and just let them die because its "gods will" and they should not interfere.

Just now, it took me 2 minutes trying to open a door in the middle of the night before I realized it was the wrong house.

Thanks god the person living there didn't wake up. It would have been awkward as hell. To my defense I just moved there and it's dark at night.

Well, this is also a sort of moral dilemma. If the child can only live on as a cripple, having to be fed everytime, is it not more respectful to just let it go? My grandmother (father's side) passed away six years ago and she spent the last four years of her life in hospitals and in bed. I think dying is better than having to fade away like this... or as Kurt Cobain said: it's better to burn out than to fade away.

I need to get going now... got a seminar in town.

I can understand what you mean there, but the case that was in my mind when I wrote that was a 7 year old who got tetanus (or something insignificant, I dont remember for sure what it was) and just needed some shots or whatever to be all better. It was nothing substantial had it just been treated but instead the infection spread and she died. Then there are also cases of doctors refusing to treat children based on their parents religious beliefs. Fucking nut-jobs, seriously.

Honor killings are a huge problem in my country, particularly in 2 of the states. They usually happen over idiotic things like pregnancy outside wedlock, or a girl marrying a guy from another village (o_O wut?).
Thankfully the government is cracking down HARD on this shit.
If people believe that antiquated practices like honor killings over such small things are justified by their religion, then they need to rethink what their religion means to them.
With respect to my country, there is no Hindu scripture that justifies such killings. In fact, talk about any religion and it's ridiculous to say God would encourage killing for such petty matters.

Yup. Religion is a means to reach God. As people evolve and become more civilized, so should their religious beliefs. Murder, to us, is a heinous crime and there is nothing that can justify it.
