I'm supposed to be singing for this since I'm not playing in the orchestra. We're putting on a concert of Carmina Burana (the first time it's been done in Australia, I think). I'm singing the bass 2 part, since my voice isn't high enough to sing tenor and I'm too lazy to learn bass 1 (which is higher than bass 2).

If you're not quite low enough to hit bottom bass notes, but not quite high enough to hit top tenor notes, then you'd be a baritone.

Your voice is the first instrument you're born with. If you can use it, you don't suck. It just depends on how much training you put into it.
Second: if you can clap, you can play your body as an instrument: body percussion.
