it could just be your area has a lot of users taking up bandwidth. My cable company calls me all the time to tell me I'm taking too much bandwidth and am pissing off everyone else

We do a balance between form, katas, and sparring. When it gets close to tournament time, though, those entering in the sparring division focus heavily on that (likewise with kata people).

I went to a Shitoryu school for a while, they were heavy about sparring compared to the Shotokan school I ended up at.
