My school in ohio was a bit different. we would get a meter per snowfall as normal and have school. i moved to New Jersey, and everyone freaks out at like 8 cm of snow. its stupid. but it is a free day off school, so im not complaining too much

and really i dont think people freak out in jersey, but the news is always like OMG GONNA DIE IN CAR CRASHES, and any time there is snow in places like jersey where there isnt tonsof yearly snow. People run out buy eggs milk and bread

Well, i know that there are a lot of people from other countries on here, so i prefer to use the system that everyone will understand, rather than the US "standard" system. besides, everyone knows that the metric system makes SO MUCH more sense. lol

Well what do you expect?

For example my grandmother who is from Florida could give a shit less when there is a thunderstorm and will go outside for a walk fearlessly but is deathly allergic to snow.

I, who grew up in NYC am reasonably accepting of snow but deathly afraid of lightning. So you develop tolerance to your regional occurrences, and i know from experience that the amount of snow Ohio receives is monumental in comparison to New Jersey, especially near the shoreline.

makes sense. i love thunderstorms myself. its cool to just chill on the porch and just watch the skittering flashes of light dance across the sky. It's as if mother nature is painting a picture with brilliant blues, whites and purples against the onyx sky.

mmmh speaking of snow, recently i was stranded at some relatives' house because of it for like a week because the roads were inoperable. that week turned out to be the longest i've been away from the internet. i noticed in the time that i'd normally be online, i seemed to be asleep alot... but when you think about it, is there really any difference between the two?
