Interesting bit happened to me today on my way to class. A bunch of people were standing around the bridge trying to get people to sign some sort of petition. I got caught by one guy and here was the conversation that took place:
him: "Want to sign a petition?"
me: "For?"
him: "To save the Kentucky Fried Chicken on campus."
me: "Why? Whats happening?"
him: "These people you see around me with petitions are trying to get them kicked out."
me: "Why?"
him: "I don't know, animal cruelty or something, but I think it's delicious and am starting my own petition to save it."
me: "Frankly sir, no matter how hard I think, I just can't find any flaws in your logic."
him: "So you will sign?"
me: "Absolutely!"
First time being caught by someone by that darned bridge actually brightened my day a bit. Much better than getting caught by the racist Christians that usually stand there, or the magazine salespeople.
That is made of win. I'd sign that in a heartbeat.
Random QueenMetroid Thought of Today:
So, today, I started talking to this girl from my music class. Upon further conversation, I find out she's Chinese, been living here for 4 years. Anyway, I wear freaking huge headphones (Sony MDR-X200s) as my geek fashion accessory. So she asked me what kind of music I listened to. I said what I liked, and then added as a joke afterwards that any music I heard from anime. She jumps up in the air with a little squeal (Yeah, it was kind of cute, lol) and asks me what I've seen, etc. I said, "So you like anime?"
She says (as if I should have known all along):
"Of course I love anime! I'm Asian, duh!"
So, as much as I try not to believe racial stereotypes, they continue to dog me anyway. How ironic. In addtion, I listened in on a long conversation with one of the students arguing with the teacher about why they should get a 50/50 on their English paper. The teacher disagreed. The student says "Well, you just don't know good work when you see it." Congratulations on sinking your grade, buddy.
