Ah, Laundry, I am so glad I have my own machines.

I'm surprised a major city like Berlin doesn't have decent laundromats, pretty much every little town here has them, nobody even knows how to wash clothes by hand.

So what did the plumber say? So long as you don't need to replace any pipes the work should be quick.

I didn't talk to a plumber... just to the caretaker...and she said something like "Closed until further notion"
So... I don't know if they're waiting until their polish cousins have time for an appointment next year... but I really hope they will get it fixed soon

That doesn't sound acceptable to me. If your house provides washing machines they must work properly.
Check with the German Union of Tenants if it takes too long.

not true at all, even in america depending on the lease or rental agreement you very well may be responsible for repairing it on your own or at the renter/leasers leisure.

Meaning it worked when you went in, and stopped working while you were responsible for it. You thus are responsible for it to be working again at some point.

So yea it really depends alot on the terms for you renting the place.

doesn't catch because I haven't used it for like 2 months at least... and yeah they will repair it... I guess... when they feel like it...
I'm just afraid I will have to sit on my pile of laundry for like two weeks now T_T

Sweden: if the house provides certain facilities they must work and it is the responsibility of the owner to fix them unless it was obviously the tenants own fault it broke.
I don't know for sure but my guess is that the German rights are more similar to Swedish rights then American "even".

Edit: But no, it doesn't really solve the immediate problem now does it :(

My family lives 800km to the south... and my friends... well I have two that I could ask, but one has an awfully jealous girlfriend that would turn his life into a living hell if he helped me and the other one hangs out at her boyfriend's all the time who lives far out in suburbia...plus her father is a heavy smoker, so the laundry would smell worse after washing than they do right now.. >_>

Ouch.
There doesn't seem to be any choices left but the laundromats. At least you can save some money by drying the clothes inside your own apartment. It takes a while though.

I don't really know what to search for, my German is far from good, but here is a quick google:
http://www.qype.co.uk/de300-berlin/search/wäscherei

But as you said, they seems to be quite expensive :(

yeah... looks like I'll have to just burn my laundry and buy new stuff... -_-

since drying it in my apartment is not really an option either... it's too small... just one room... if I started to dry laundry here I wouldn't be able to move around anymore

Looks like we are back to the 'do by hand' option.

Yeah and we can't help out much more either. Ace is territorial and have access to weapons and lutefisk :)

How does Ace fit into our discussion?  ???

He'd better help Morgia wash the clothes if he's anywhere near her.

Well it is kind of sick that if you would send your laundry to me by mail so I can wash it, it will be cheaper then in a laundromat in Berlin. Btw, if you do that, don't expect all panties returned  ;D

I am her box "husband" and I love her?

Se my above post about that.

Not true, if someone asks her out, I will encourage her to go because of the free dinner! I am practical after all.

For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

So, the truth comes out. AceHigh has a panty sniffing fetish. Who knew? Unless, of course, he plans on wearing them. Either way, I find it disturbing.

Hmm... price. Gotcha.

Drying is the biggest issue. I'd suggest one of those foldable hanger things if you choose handwashing for whatever reason.

fohfoh... I'm not retarded... I have one of those... but there's no way in hell my two huge piles of laundry would actually fit upon such a thing... plus: I don't really have the space to put it anywhere... I pointed that out before that if I put it on the balcony the crows would leave loveletters on my stuff and inside my room I wouldn't have any space to move around anymore...

If you read my last post then you will see why. Short term memory problem?

Yes it is the truth just because I said so on the internet. I am also a 13 year old girl and I wish for world peace, that is truth because I said so. Oh, another truth is that queenmetroid lacks a sense of humor completely. Completely true  ::)
