Reiji from Kodomo no Jikan, especially so in the manga, for being a sick bastard.

In terms of annoyance, the crazy scientist from Shakugan no Shana which I CBA to look up the name for. The show could have done without it's Team Rocket antics in my opinion.

Kyon from Suzumiya haruhi bothered me a lot through the anime. I'm pretty old fashioned and I like my cliched endings, so every time he had a scene with Asahina Mikuru it just angered me. I guess the same could be said about Ryuji and midori from Toradora. I guess I haven't come across an anime character that I have absolutely hated yet, though I could name off about 20 video game/J-rpg game characters that I hated.

Gotta be shinji from NGE, in fact most of the cast. Alot of people claim he's realistic because of all his problems but i disagree and believe the fact that he has ALL those problems makes him unrealistic. The only one who comes to mind.

Only anime I have wanted to watch the dub just because those lines didn't seem to grind my brain as much.

i guess everyone is different, i though kyon handled the whole thing really well id sure has hell be freaking out if some1 that could change the universe liked me, plus who can help but ogle at Asahina

Ataru from Urusei Yatsura, I could give so many reasons as to why.

I believe the most the most pressing reason is I can't stand watching a harem comedy wherein the center of affection is annoying, Ataru's not even pitiful or the typical vinilla character, he's just annoying.

I might've said Naruto a while ago, but I've grown less annoyed with him since I've stopped watching the anime and simply read the manga. That utterly pathetic Kazuki from Dragonaut certainly was in contention but his over-the-top insanity grew to be kind of funny over time. Shinn Asuka certainly deserves my hatred, but the only satisfaction I got in the whole of Gundam Seed Destiny was seeing him suffer defeat in the redone ending, without him I wouldn't of even had that. Ryo Saeba from City Hunter was an option, he shifts too much from GAR to infantile lech with no happy medium... I kept thinking that the artist should've made him like Captain Bravo from Bousou Renkin, but no such luck - still he's not as annoying as Ataru.

l have to admit about shinji at one point, he pissed me off most of the times, l don't know how can they claim to make kids like that realistic, in my country, WE WORK ON OUR PROBLEMS, and we try to solve them, hes not doing very much about it so blast him off

when l was his age and had a problem with a girlfriend, l solved it, it was awkward for a while after but problem solved and l didn't have to create my own alternate reality, and l sure didn't need to masturbate on a comatose girl, tough that might be turning on, since it was asuka, she IS cute, but l didn't have to and l'm glad ;]

l think they hsould change the way they draw kids now, being nice is good but being that nice is bad for kids, l was raised to fight for my rights, if somethings wrong l act, not wonder "maybe l shouldn't yell"

I can appreciate Shinji's mentality in that it is an exaggeration of the mindset of teenagers in (East) Asia (i.e. Chinese, Japanese). A lot of Asians are terribly apologetic, (from my experience anyway, I am Asian) and we usually try not to get confrontational over what we see as small matters, also, we like family matters to stay within the family. Ostensibly, Shinji's thing with his dad is a family matter, but I digress. However, this does not stop Shinji from being a real pain in the ass.

I suppose the fact that we can feel strongly about a character is proof that it has affected us....

he IS a pain in the ass, hes too scared to confront his old man, hes scared of confronting anyone, wich pretty much pissed off Asuka in the first place, from watching NGE l took the impression that Asuka kinda liked him, but since hes such a pain she doesn't really bother trying, her behaviour is pretty much to try and help him straighten up by scolding him as much as possible, l'm gonna hate him just for being a jerk, all other matters l like him for cuz those are ok.

It's a bit difficult to pick a most hated character, but here a few of my most hated characters, in no particular order:

Gauron (FMP) - I'll agree with Psyren on this one, not only was this guy a bastard, but he could apparently survive almost anything, and reappeared in way too many FMP episodes.

Tsuneo Saikawa (One Outs) - This is the owner of the Lycaons ... he's pretty much just a whiny little bitch who gets his ass handed to him over and over by Tokuchi.

Eva Heinemann (Monster) - Kenzou Tenma's wife ... if you've seen the series/read the manga, you'd probably understand ....

Abarai Renji (Bleach) - Always acts like a badass, and always ends up getting his ass kicked.

I'm sure there are a few I missed, but I didn't want to list the majority of the cast of Bleach ...

Suzaku (code geass) - words cannot describe this shit head. He thought himself the right knight of justice for ages though truth is he's a traitor to his whole country and he's full of hypocrasy. if he's supposed to be a good guy i'd happily join the dark side just to cut him down =P fucking plot armor also makes him invincable.

Shirou (Fate/Stay night) - omg, the most unbelievable twat of anime history. The shit that comes out his mouth ("People die if they are killed." - a two year old could prolly figure that out u retard) and his foolish actions by all rights should have shatterd space-time and brought the universe to it's end. I know it's a law of anime that most anime characters are thick as shit, but shirou has gone a step beyond them all (He's prolly the result of two thick as shit brother and sister having a child, lol).

I completely forgot about Suzaku. I hated him too. I was really pissed off to see him get such a decent ending. He was completely stupid, completely unjustified in everything he did, betrayed his country, and then because a greater evil arose he turned out looking like the good guy.

Suzaku wasn't that bad in the first few episodes, before he figured out who Lelouch was. But after that, he became an incredible duechebag to boot.
