With that being the standard, then it would have to be that flame guy from Tenjou Tenge. I have a deep seated hatred for him that will probably require some sort of priest or sacrifice to exorcise...

Why the hell did he get to rape Bob's girlfriend? She didn't even go to the school! She had nothing to with whatever was happening! What kinda plot development was that? He didn't even get punished or anything for it?! Even though Bob and Nagi did beat him up a little like 60 chapters later (maybe more) but that was it? For crying out loud, this same guy TORCHED your Bike! So not only does he f*ck with his girl but with his motorcycle too? This guy wouldn't even get a chance to explain himself. I would show up in fire retardant clothes and a 50 cal or a 240B. I would lay complete waste to every shred of his being. I hate that character with such a passion. Oh my gosh, let someone even THINK they could get away with doing that to my bike or girl..... That was just so wrong and ill fitting into a storyline that until then was light hearted and comedic.

Yeah that kinda reminds me of DBZ where "Kami" was this wrinkled old green guy who a 14 year old Saiyan could own any day of the week. Some protector of the earth.

Godai from Maison Ikkoku really got on my nerves. I wish he would just man up sometimes during the series and fix his relationship with Otanashi (SP?) but it would never happen. I guess if he would have, there wouldn't be much of a show, but it really got on my nerves and the end result was me not liking the show nearly as much as I would have, (however I still enjoyed it).
I personally liked Shinji from Evangelion. Don't get me wrong, I hate whiny characters as much as the next guy, however I felt it was justified by his situation. Not only that, since he was a reflection of Hideaki Anno (the creator), I felt his behavior was more real, therefor understandable. I think Shinji Ikari is the only whiny character that I could stand.
Naruto filler was crap, nuff said. Griffith from Berserk was a son of a gun for sure, but he was a guy that you'd love to hate, (after the series of course), and I love villains that do that to you, because that means they did their job well. He reminds me somewhat of Johan from Monster.
Nice topic, I like reading your guys' thoughts.

My vote goes for one of the most annoying characters in history: Principal Kuno from Ranma 1/2
