i prefer a no cap with only constant 1mbps up and down VS. up to 100mbps with 50gb cap. no use having super speed when it runs out in just an hour or so.

QFT. Specially because 1mbps up and down uncapped is what I have ;D

kitamesume:
too bad though, i have an up to 2mbps/750kbps(minimum speed was undeclared but on constant usage, i could say the minimum speed is 160kbps/100kbps while the average is 300kbps/250kbps) with crappy service and it has a cap, though they dont literally cap it, they charge me more if i used more than the standard cap.

This is what I have at home.

My provider upgraded our service a little bit ago so I figured I would post it. They actually offer a faster service but I didnt think it was worth spending 50 bucks more a month on it.

Probably the same as mine, so my connection is not faster than theirs. Also, speedtest probably only has 1% granularity, so it cannot show "faster than 99.5% of LT" or similar. But maybe there are more people using my 300/300 plan.

Tatsujin:
There's a connector between my modem and the cable through the wall. Uh, I'm not sure if I'm wording it right (haven't slept in 20 hours so far). Basically:

Cable through the wall -> Connector -> Cable -> Modem.

I had Comcast come here and look over my Internet. I was getting dropped off in peak hours - that's when I usually raid in WoW. So the guy did few tests inside and outside, came back inside took off the old connector and plugged the cable from the wall straight to the modem. Went to speedtest.net and my download speed averaged at around 48-50 Mbs. Then, he put a new connector instead of the old one and it dropped it down to 23-25 Mbs (that's the original speed I'm suppose to be getting from comcast). I asked what the connector is for and he told me it's to keep me in the "green mark". The old connector was the one that was causing me problems, he said. The modem I have is a gigantic business modem which can go up to 108Mbs and from the looks of it it seems to cost a lot of money. I got it for free anyways. So now I'm not sure what to do ... lol, I'm thinking of actually taking out this connector and plugging it straight into my modem to get double the speed. But I don't want to steal extra bandwidth and get in trouble. But wow, that double speed ...

I wish FiOS was around my area. Would have switched in a heart beat!
