When I had a Mac I used Transmission.  It's the best torrent client I have ever used

I'm running on a mac and use UTorrent, its a small program and it gets the job done. Very straight forward and easy to use

Oohhh, I remember when I first started torrenting about hmmmm 4 years back. (I know, it's not soo long ago, but still).  µTorrent seemed to be the logical choice, due to its small size, simple user interface and it didn't need any high level tweaking for it to work good (not to mention the awesome name [microTorrent], heck yeah!). I believe they were on version 1.5 or so.

I have recently tried Bitcomit on my laptop, only to soon after be told it was Blacklisted, which must be for good reasons, cuz I didn't like it anyway.

And the still quite small application known as µTorrent does have quite a bit more to offer for those who want to get a bit more suffisticated.

Note: I wouldn't really count Limewire as a real torrent client, eMule almost falls into the same catagory, but I only really used it before I started torrenting.

I use uTorrent on Windows. With Mac I'm using Vuze right now. I tried uTorrent for Mac, but I feel it doesn't have as many options in changing the connection settings, and it is also still in beta last time I checked. I also tried Transmission recently because I heard it was the best for Macs, but I couldn't download anything for some reason.

In all honesty though, Vuze(Azureus), gets the job done perfectly. All you really need the client for is to have a connection with trackers, and if you just adjust the settings in preferences for uTorrent or Vuze, then you should pretty much get the same results in terms of speed. That's how it seems to me, so don't quote me on this if I'm just making things up. Yes, Vuze looks bulky, and I don't like it for that, but it doesn't really matter to me because I'm not using it as an internet browser or something. I just start it up, go to my library tab where I see all my torrents, and then just leave it on. But I probably will change to Transmission or uTorrent later on anyway.

P.S. How do you pronounce Vuze? Vu-ze, Vooz, Vews?

kakashi19:
I think its pronounced as Vooz. I'm not sure if thats the correct pronounciation.

I've been previously using BitLord in downloading and sometimes I encounter problems in the downloaded data especially video formats. The files were re-checked after downloading and when I tried to played the file, an error occurred and refused to play in all players that I have. My problem was solved when I started using Azureus /Vuze (in Ubuntu Linux) and uTorrent in (Windows). They get the job done without any problems.  :D

Neco:
I'm using uTorrent.   actually was stuck on 1.9 Alpha for a long time because I won't get throttled on  UDP/uTP.   Upgraded to 1.8.5 though once I figured out how to force uTP only connections.   Although I wanted to use the latest Beta out there,  its blocked here  :-[
