I was mostly just curious if the ports were keeping up with each other.
A friend of mine's been using it on windows and it's been good, but I don't think he keeps it updated.
Of course I've been using it on linux, as I got rid of windows over a year ago.

Halite shows a lot of promise, I have tested it out of interest. Low memory sage like µTorrent has and speeds are good.

after using windows and utorrent for years i installed ubuntu and have been using deluge it is by far the fasted client. you guys really should try it and ubuntu.

I really don't have a favorite client, but right now, I'm using Ktorrent.

I've heard that Deluge is still a bit buggy, and the only complaint I have about Ktorrent is the speed of the client at times.

Utorrent is nice, I just have one quirk about it. It copies all your torrent files to another folder by default. Which I find to be slightly annoying since I would have to delete most of those torrents sooner or later.

I don't really see how change software will really increase your dl speed. It depends on your connection speed and peers.
utorrent is just simple and doesn't have all the crap most of the other ones have.
I get 2~3 MB/s and up to 10 MB on private trackers.

uTorrent and if not then I'd go for Azureus, Azureus gets very annoying after time goes by

Switched from Vuze to uTorrent. Most admins on IRC recommended it to me individually so I took their advice, and love it. Simple program and the options I was looking for. I don't need all other extra options. Good stuff.

Are those megabits or, I repeat... or megabytes? Hmmm? Megabits is smaller than megabytes, so:

1 megabit = 0.125 megabytes // I divided by 8.
0.125 megabytes = 125 kilobytes // Converted into lower units.

Well, old topic, lol, and still using Azureus 2.5; I'll try uTorrent the next time I have to reinstall my OS.

Noone mentioned MLDonkey. Am I the only one using it?
It's very great, as it's running as a background daemon on my dedicated server, so regardless of what I do to my computer at home, my Torrent client is always online.
I guess mldonkey takes some getting used to, and it's especially not easy to configure if you really wanna seed some torrents, but if you're just concerned with downloading, it works out of the box (on ubuntu at least^^)

It comes with a telnet- and a webinterface. So where ever I might be right now, I can check on my torrents.
(yes I know, most BT clients have a webinterface...)

Moreover, on a completely different machine (please notice how the video chip sends most of the work to the cpu...) i've been able to play Unreal Tournament 2k4 with no issues, even if i had running in background quite a few stuff, including Opera with tabs open for over 300mb of ram, an IRC client, an IM app and the email client... plus BitTyrant (only The Pirate Bay torrents!).
I did get Opera completely swapped out, but the cpu was just fine to play one of the most cpu intensive games my computer can run. Damn intel video chip

Anyway Azureus forever.

400Mhz PPC G3? Is that a PowerMac G3 tower, an iMac, or something else? In any case, that thing's got a day or two of age on it...

Also, as another Mac user, what's your opinion on the current version of Transmission?
