I don't think there's any reason to separate FMP and FMP Fumoffu, though. Fumoffu is like a season 1.5 of FMP, or something. The bottom line being it's part of the series even if not necessary for the bigger plot. It does develop characters, though.

I don't like FMP, but love Fumoffu.  It's the Ranma 1/2 fan in me I guess.  I always thought that FMP would be great if they got rid of the plot cuz it's so boring.  Then they go ahead and do just that with Fumoffu.

Black Lagoon (although the parts where they talk English are pretty horrible. You can barely understand what they are talking about sometimes)

I love black lagoon, but must agree with you on that. It's the only anime that I think parts of might possibly be better dubbed because of that.

My list (and I am a relative anime noob):

Ghost in a Shell SAC (w/2nd gig)
Black Lagoon (w/2nd barrage)
Elfen Lied
Cowboy Bebop
Noir
Jin ROh - The Wolf Brigade
Voices of a Distant Star
Serial Experiments Lain

I've seen more anime, but wouldn't put it on a top ten list, even though I like it. So count the 2nd Gig and 2nd Barrage as the last 2 of ten, I guess.
This.

Last Exile
Berserk
Escaflowne
Macross, everything Macross/Robotech
Cowboy Bepop
Samurai Champloo
MDGeist(Early anime, good memories)
Eight man After(Early anime, good memories)
Serial Experiments Lain(Early anime, good memories)....

Welp, there a lot I like but I wouldn't put them in my top 10. Like Evangelion, Yakitate Japan, Eureka Seven, I'm kinda stuck now trying to think of other animes on this level... I never finish watching Monster, maybe that's worth it I dunno... Threw in some of the animes I first saw, there were others like Ninja Scroll but I didn't really like that. Guess I'm pretty picky.

To address some of the posted titles here that confused me...
Trigun: Funny at times, but dragged out and all in all was boring.
Death Note: I dunno, I was never into this series. It's definitely not bad, but not as amazing as most people seem to feel.
One Piece: Typical shonen. I can hear the rampaging fans all under the age of sixteen already.
Fullmetal Alchemist: This series tried so hard to offer something for an older age group, but in the end was targeted at kids. The overall plot had some merit, but it was presented in far too childish of a manner.
Naruto: No comment. Possibly the most overrated series in existence, aside from Bleach.
Berserk: Why are fighting animes so popular? They're all the same. The plots are all boring. Where's the point?
Neon Genesis Evangelion: No, sorry, this series isn't "deep" or "interesting." At best it earns a "weird." Granted mechs are always cool. I'll give the series credits for mechs killing aliens. That was about all that was good. If they'd cut out the angst and most of the talking, BAM - top ten.
Akira: Wasn't bad, but nothing exceptional.
Black Lagoon: This had such a good plot and great characters, but too much of the series was spent trying to appeal to the teenage audience. It had a LOT of potential, but ended as simply average.
Hellsing: Nah. Want real vampires? Watch the original Blade or Underworld.
Bleach: I knew it'd show up eventually. Sure, the idea of a Soul Society is interesting, and a few of the fights were decent. But, whoops, it's turned into another Naruto/Dragonball gayfest. Sorry.
Rurouni Kenshin: Had a few arcs, and the manga was decent, but the anime was just painful. I did like most of the fights, but the humor was often too forced and the pointless fillers took up too much of the series.

There's a few others I'd like to rip on, but I haven't completely watched them (couldn't stand them). If anyone has qualms with the above allegations, by all means speak up. There's nothing as refreshing as ripping on fankids.

And without further ado, in no particular order, my top ten.
Cowboy Bebop
Full Metal Panic
Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou
Gundam Seed
Basilisk
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien
Honey and Clover
Jin Roh

That's all. Not even ten. There are quite a few others I'll list here that almost made the cut, but aren't quite on the same level as the series above.
Onegai Teacher
Ai Yori Aoshi
Monster
Beck
Bokura ga Ita
Chobits
Paradise Kiss
School Rumble
Wolf's Rain

Hellsing: Nah. Want real vampires? Watch the original Blade or Underworld.

You are joking, right? Well, that was a rhetorical question, of course. If you weren't joking, you wouldn't have named some second-rate massproduced action flicks as real vampire works. But as it is, Hellsing is a lot closer to the original vampirism than Blade and Underworld.

The allegations have merit, but it's not surprising that they make it on to many Top 10 lists -- for many people, those are among the first anime they've seen, so they leave a sense of nostalgia and a lasting impression. And for newer fans, those are some of the only anime they've seen. So it's quite possible that people aren't declaring these to be "top 10" after seeing and judging 250 other anime. I would contend though, that there has to be something good or at least significant about Evangelion to make people continue to watch and debate about it 12 years after it aired. Otherwise it'd just be forgotten in obscurity amongst other mid-90s anime like El Hazard, Maze, Gokudo, Generator Gawl, and Blue Gender. And since you decided to have a go at other people's favorites, I'm assuming you're putting yours out there as well...

*Cowboy Bebop: Overrated story that could've been told in about 6 episodes if they'd cut out all the random episodic "Bounty-of-the-Week" and shroom-eating stories. "We're hungry!" "Let's go catch this guy and get a reward!" "Oh crap we saved the day but we didn't get the money and we're still hungry. Roll credits!"
*Full Metal Panic (I'm assuming the first series here) : As a romantic comedy, it fails because the comedy is all one-note "fish-out-of-water" and "Look what that crazy Sousuke blew up now!", and the romance goes nowhere (in the first series, or the three anime series so far). As a mecha action series, it's merely okay because Gonzo's poor pacing made the episodes that should've been exciting drag, plus some of the mecha "tournaments" make G-Gundam look like a serious epic.
*His & Her Circumstances: Starts out decent, but has more recaps than Wolf's Rain and goes into a spiraling freefall after episode 18, in the animation, story, and character department, all towards a cop-out ending that resolves nothing.
Gundam Seed: Tbh I haven't actually seen it, but I hear tell it's a cheap rehash of the classic Gundam 0079 series, only with angsty emo teens. (Or maybe that was GS Destiny?)
Basilisk: Why are fighting anime so popular? They're all the same. The plots are all boring. Where's the point?
*KgNE: Poor excuse for a soap opera with one of the most spineless male leads ever and characters that stand around whining for four episodes straight and then do things that make no sense. Plus with all those random other girls, it's pretty much saying "Hey this is based on a porno game but we took out most of the porno so if you wanna fap go buy the game you loser otaku!"
*Honey & Clover: Bunch of emo hippie college art students complaining about how they can't get some guy or girl to like them, or how aimless their lives are because they're in a dead-end major. At least it gets the Pedobear Seal of Approval thanks to Hagu-chan.
Jin-Roh: Haven't seen, can't judge.

* In all honesty, I do like these series myself; I'm just playing devil's advocate here.

Cowboy Bebop: It scores enough points to be on a top ten simply by having lead characters over the age of fifteen :P
Full Metal Panic: I dunno, I'll agree with you here, but maybe it's because I've read the novels as well that I enjoy it more?
Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou: Skip over the re-caps, and it's probably the best romance/comedy around. Only the ending is worth taking a shot at.
Gundam Seed: There was some painful-to-watch-angst, but the tone of this series was a lot like Gundam 0079, so if you liked Gundam 0079, you'll like Gundam Seed. I'd contest Seed is as good, if not better.
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien: Find me a "soap opera" anime that's better then :P The relationships in this series were a lot more realistic than many others, and the characters were all very round in their personalities.
Honey and Clover: Ignoring Hagu, there was nothing to dislike about this series, unless you hate emo hippie art students (perfectly understandable, I hate them in real life :P)
Jin Roh: If you do like all of the above titles as you said, then you probably have somewhat similar taste, and I'd highly recommend this movie - it was amazing. Takes two or three watches through to catch everything that's going on though :)

So I just saw texhnolyze, and it made me reconsider my list.

Ghost in a Shell SAC (w/2nd gig)
Texhnolyze
Jin Roh - The Wolf Brigade
Noir
Voices of a Distant Star
Cowboy Bebop

So I've cut it down to 6/7 ATM.

Black Lagoon (although the parts where they talk English are pretty horrible. You can barely understand what they are talking about sometimes)

I love black lagoon, but must agree with you on that. It's the only anime that I think parts of might possibly be better dubbed because of that.

Serial Experiments Lain

I've seen more anime, but wouldn't put it on a top ten list, even though I like it. So count the 2nd Gig and 2nd Barrage as the last 2 of ten, I guess.

This.

lol tbh I always got a kick out of the characters when they spoke english.  I also got a laugh out of the intro song.  Same can be said about the intro and outro to berserk.  For some reason I get a kick out of engrish.

5.Spirited Away
6.Escaflowne
7.Cowboy Bebop
8.Wicked City (Kawajiri FTW!)

Sounds good, and since I was playing devil's advocate and insulting series I actually do like, there's no need to debate any furthere. Maybe I'll give Jin-Roh a DL...I see there's a Blu-Ray rip out there that's not on Box...

Not to become more inactive maby I should post some titles, but after you got about 500 gb anime and to muched burned out you tend to forget the good ones so the ones in my mind will be on this list. They are also ranked this way from what I have currently watched, it's quite hard to pick out series. Just take a look at Jaradin who got his big collection and ask him if it was really worth to watch every anime in the list.:P

1. Tsubasa Chronicles -My favorite but they are killing the end with 3 episodes that feels as it wont be enough,  looked like a hundred of feathers left and they could really have made it a long and good serie.
2. One Piece
3. Code Geass
4. Saiyuki
5. Bleach
5. Naruto - Great anime but the episodes are so short and filled with unnessesary "breaks" or longer than in useal animes, more or less slow.
6. Tenge Toppa Gurren Lagann
7. Death Note
8. FMA
9. Shaman King

10. Hanaukyo Maids La Verite/Hanaukyo Maid Tai and Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu
The two 10th aren't low ranked more like the most funny anime that made me laugh so much, however it's a more fun anime and got no real story where you get deep into it or "involved".
Never stoped to laught when the witch or what you could call that afro who hunted her old husband came in the picture. :)

I have so many favorite shows. Can't even say em' all, but would have to say my top 4 are:

1.Rurouni Kenshin (reason I got into anime)
2.Death Note (love the story, characters, and everything else too!)
3.Cowboy Bebop (Epic anime with awesome protagonist!)
4.Hajime no Ippo (great sports anime/manga with great story and still going on!)

well considering its based around war and battles, and the main character probably kills over 1000 enemies on screen in 25 episodes, yeah I guess you could call it a "fighting" or "action" anime.
