Nah, a bit earlier this year because we started earlier than last as well.

Not sure how to feel about this really, I'm completely surprised my banner landed there on the list.
I admit I spent quite a bit of time doing it because I enjoy working in Photoshop, but if tyler didn't inform me that my banner was up among the winners i would probably never notice, until randomly seeing it on the web page.

I'm gonna ask you something, did you forget to add AA on any of the fonts? Because they look a bit...jagged.

Damn someone DID notice.
Although it looks like they are jagged, for some reason this is how it turned out, the font size must have something to do with it though. lower or higher font size wouldn't work well with bakabt logo and dangos. I actually had to use black glow on the happy holidays font because stroke would make it looked worse, and without it it looked way more jagged.

I could try and repair it tomorrow but if it doesn't improve you won't hear from me about it.

Since you pick on font, how did you qualify the Kirito one ? the BakaBT font is seriously crappy.

What the hell is that ? looks like the author made a small sign, then resized it, instead of making a proper font size text.
now THAT's some jagged daggers there.

I'm surprised this didn't get first prize because this is the prettiest:

The one that used original artwork isn't even good, also using original artwork for winner of an obviously anime community website feels quite unfair if you ask for opinions. I'm not going to question your motifs for choosing this into the fold, but it's clearly not an anime source, not even a manga source, and it gets qualified as winner ?
I disagree to that choice, the rule stated clearly it has to be in the website theme, which is anime.
Everyone did anime themed banners, and the one that wins is non-anime.

What's done is done, but that's very unfair.

It was pretty clear, i spent too much time playing around with the AA options while typesetting. And you tried Smooth AA, right? That should fix that jagging.

It was stated that the content needn't be from an anime, so it seems fair to me.  :santa:

Does it need to be from an anime ?
For holiday banners rules are less strict, so even Manga, VN and Vocaloids are also allowed

Also, that's not a list of the only other things considered. Just examples of laxer guidelines. Touhou isn't mentioned there either, but it won too.

I'll begin trying to fix it now, after coffee, just got up and gotta do some chores.
End of the world soon :) Gotta end it with a perfect Miss Monochrome :)

And 300 songs of Yui Horie in the background :)
